I wanted a blue light to go with a white area in my home. When this light is off it isn't quite cobalt blue; sometimes it looks a bit purple. When it is on it is dark around the bulb but I have found this true for all the lights I have tried. I decided to keep it as it was better than the other ones I tried.

This lamp is on my desk - it is just the right height to create a pool of light for working. The pull chain is very convenient for turning it on (the lamp I used to have had a twist knob that was awkward). The cobalt blue shade is beautiful, and I was pleased that it is glass, not plastic. The color is soothing to look at. The chrome-looking base is sturdy and attractive. It also does not get as hot as my old lamp. The only complaint is that the bulb creates a darker blue orb in the meddle of the shade so the color does not appear even.
